Most people who hate Math hate it because they had a teacher who was not passionate to teach. Or who discouraged them when they didn’t understand a Math concept quickly.

Not all teachers though.

Math requires focus more than most other disciplines.

Miss a step and you’ll feel confused. Here are a few questions to make sure you’re good to go:

  • You still don’t have the materials
  • Your phone is still on your desk
  • You’re not in a quiet place
  • You find yourself wanting to distract yourself (like wanting to text someone or just talk really quickly. Or wanting to watch YouTube)
  • Find yourself doing other chores. This is elite level procrastination. Doing something that is productive to avoid studying for that test. Feels nice but won’t help.

It’s time to check yourself and get back on studying. These tips are also useful as best ways to study for a test techniques.

You have to test yourself as one of the best ways to study Math.

If you don’t test yourself everything will fly out.

It’s you feeling like you’re studying but an hour later you won’t remember anything.

Start by looking through the section you’ve read then try to solve the same example. This means:

  • Look at the contents in the textbook or slide
  • Go through every step to make sure you understand what you’ve read
  • Look away from the page and try to solve the same example to see if you understood
  • Look at the page and add the missing parts

Repeat.

Once you’ve mastered the examples, move on and solve other questions at the end of the chapter.

Whatever you do, do NOT skip practicing.
